Marlene is a diploma-trained primary school teacher who has worked in the industry for more than 20 years. She’s Central Park’s centre director and works closely with our lead educator in managing the operations of Central Park and the children’s curriculum.
What is your background in the education sector?
“I originally worked as a primary school teacher then moved into early education in 1990. For many years I worked as an educator but now I’m in an administration role, ensuring our centre continues to operate smoothly.”
Why did you choose to work in education?
“It’s a no-brainer for me – children. Children are exciting and rewarding to work with every day.”
Why do you enjoy working at Central Park?
“Our centre is unique in a lot of ways. Our multi-age grouping enables all children to learn and be together throughout the day – similar to a home. The centre is small and creates an environment for children to feel secure, loved, and giving them the care they need to grow.”
